Do stains remain on the teeth after braces?
Many people believe that after braces there are stains left on the teeth. But this is not so, more precisely, braces have nothing to do with it.
Stains on the teeth after braces are the initial stage of caries and they are formed not because of braces, but because of insufficient cleaning. Food residues around the braces cause enamel demineralization, that is, they form spots. In order to avoid this problem, patients should carefully monitor oral hygiene.
But do not forget that braces have hidden surfaces, where food remains are easily collected. Sometimes the remnants of food are hidden so well that even the doctor himself does not notice them. Therefore, brushing your teeth with braces is much more difficult than brushing your teeth without braces. The patient should thoroughly clean each surface of the bracket, as well as the teeth after each meal, at least twice a day, use interdental brushes and mouthwash. This requires patience and special responsibility.
