Aligner Fitting: The Start of Your Digital Treatment

The day of your aligner fitting is the long-awaited moment when the digital 3D treatment plan we created takes physical form. You receive your custom set of trays, and the magic of transformation begins. My task during this visit is to ensure everything is perfect and to give you all the tools and knowledge for a successful journey.

This first appointment is one of the most important. We don't just hand you a box of aligners; we initiate the entire process.

What happens at the first aligner fitting appointment?

1. Trying on the First Aligner: We make sure the first aligner fits perfectly snug and comfortably.

2. Placing Attachments (if needed): I bond tiny, tooth-colored composite "buttons" onto certain teeth. They act as anchor points and are necessary for effective and precise tooth movement. The procedure is painless.

3. Detailed Instructions: I explain and demonstrate how to properly put on and take off the aligners, how to care for them, and I give you the first few sets.

4. Answering Questions: We discuss all the nuances so that you leave with complete confidence and peace of mind.

Appointment Duration and Frequency

The first aligner fitting appointment takes 30-45 minutes. Subsequent check-up visits to receive new sets of aligners will be shorter, 15-20 minutes, and will occur approximately every 6-12 weeks.
