Braces Adjustment and Archwire Change: The Engine of Your Transformation

Orthodontic treatment is a dynamic, controlled process. Each of your visits to the clinic for a brace system adjustment is not just a "tightening." It is a key stage where I, as your doctor, give the system a new impulse to move in a precisely planned direction. It is the regular and timely replacement of archwires that serves as the engine driving us toward a perfect smile.

During this visit, I assess your progress, make necessary adjustments, and install a new archwire with different parameters, which will continue to gently but firmly move your teeth.

What happens during an adjustment appointment?

1. Progress Assessment: I carefully examine your teeth to ensure the treatment is proceeding according to plan.

2. Removal of the Old Archwire: The elastic ligatures are carefully removed, or the doors of self-ligating brackets are opened.

3. Installation of a New Archwire: A new archwire with different properties is placed into the bracket slots to apply the necessary pressure for the next stage.

4. Securing the Archwire: The brackets are closed, or new elastic bands (ligatures) are placed on them.

5. Recommendations: I provide recommendations for the upcoming period and schedule your next appointment.

Appointment Duration and Frequency

The activation procedure itself is quick, typically taking 15-30 minutes. We will meet for adjustments approximately every 4-8 weeks, depending on the treatment stage and the type of your brace system.

Regular attendance at these appointments is the key to the timely and successful completion of your orthodontic treatment.
