Many believe that stains remain on the teeth after braces. But this is not the case, or rather, the braces have nothing to do with it.
The stains on teeth after braces are the initial stage of caries, and they are formed not because of the braces, but because of insufficient cleaning. Food debris around the braces causes demineralization of the enamel, that is, it forms stains. To avoid this problem, patients should carefully monitor their oral hygiene.
But do not forget that braces have hidden surfaces where food debris easily collects. Sometimes the food debris is hidden so well that even the doctor himself does not notice it. Therefore, cleaning teeth with braces is much more difficult than cleaning teeth without braces.
The patient must thoroughly clean every surface of the bracket, as well as the teeth after every meal, and use interdental brushes and mouthwash at least twice a day. This requires patience and special responsibility.
